RANT: You are not a webdesigner

If you call yourself a webdesigner and cannot wrtite a page in pure HTML/CSS by hand, you lie. Period.
While this sounds harsh, its actually obvious: you need to know whats possible and how complex it is to implement what you design.

Yes, what you design looks good, but there is a reason that you've never seen tilted text with a drop shadow and a gradient on a website.

Yes, you can slice your psd and it will display in your browser, so obviously it is possible to implement what you design?
really? Think about it...
just look at the "code" you generate with this method.

Anfang April 2008 wurde in der Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen eine Fahne mit dem Motiv der Schäublone während eines Fußballspiels gegen den FC Barcelona unter Verweis auf das Hausrecht des FC Schalke 04 eingezogen. Die Fahne wurde in Reaktion auf einen Polizeikessel am Schalker Fanprojekt[37] vor dem Heimspiel gegen den MSV Duisburg am 15. März 2008 mit in das Stadion genommen. Die Polizei würde prüfen, ob Anzeige wegen „Verwendung von verfassungsfeindlichen Symbolen“ erhoben werde, so ein Ordner.[38]

OK, kann ja mal passieren. Haben wir momentan auf $seite auch so, aus Bequemlichkeit... Aber eine Firma der Größe Facebooks sollte eigentlich gültige E-Mail-Adressen nicht einfach so als ungültig abweisen. Twitter hats ja auch geschafft.

Naja, nett wie ich bin will ich die mal drauf hinweisen dass die mir gerade eine Entschuldigung geben da nicht Mitglied zu werden (wortlaut war natürlich anders), und was passiert?

Oh man, I never had myspace, never been to *VZ, didn't know WKW and never ever surfed to facebook.

I always hated Web forums - all those Passwords and no offlinecache, no grep, NNTP is way superior, mods stink and all those retards on the web...

But I guess it's time for me to dive in the cesspool of the Web2.0. Just got myself twitter and flickr, expect more to come.

I just hope this isnt all that bad as I thought it is...

Force samba to tell accumulated share size

I wanted to backup my win7 on my fileserver, using the builtin backuptool and CIFS.
However, I have one big share where some cryptofilesystems are mounted, and samba will only tell the size/avail of the root directory which is exported, thus Windows thinks there is not enough space to do the backup.

Fortunately, you can force samba to tell an arbitrary sharesize with the dfree command.

I wanted samba to tell the combined size/avail of all filesystems currently mounted under my share, so I wrote this script:
